Crack’d Brunch was started by two childhood friends. During covid after restrictions were lessened, Shajeeth and Abi decided to use this as an opportunity to better themselves. Waking up early to work out and go on walks, they would often visit various breakfast spots and cafes afterwards. On one of these walks, Shajeeth brought up the prospect of opening their own brunch restaurant.
With no prior restaurant experience, they set out to do the impossible: to bring an aesthetic brunch spot–one you’d typically only find downtown–to the local Scarborough food scene. After two years of planning, securing a location, applying for permits, constructing and training staff, Crack’d Brunch opened its doors to its first customers on March 15, 2025.
Since then, Crack’d has grown into a little community of its own, priding itself on flavourful foods and warm service. As first-time restaurant operators, the owners take everyday as a challenge to improve and be better than they were before!
